Adele

Adkins was born to a young single mother who lived in various working class communities of London. As a young girl she was fond of singing modern pop music and learning to play guitar and the clarinet. She discovered Etta an early-mid-century rhythm-and- blues performer, during her teens, and started to think about a career as an artist. While she honed her talents at a secondary school funded by the government for the performing arts, a friend started posting songs Adkins composed and recorded onto the social networking site Myspace. Following her graduation her music caught the attentions of record labels. She signed a deal in 2006 with XL Recordings.
